Boys Grades 5-6 Basketball

Program is Full
Boys Grades 5 & 6
All players must reside within the Eastern York School District and play at their respective level as determined by their grade for the 2025-2026 school year. All players must register and submit payment prior to evaluations to be held the week of October 27. (Registration and payment will not be accepted at the evaluation site). All registered by October 13 will be placed on a team. At that time, we will assess our numbers and determine availability. Late registration will be accepted as space allows until October 20.

EVALUATIONS: Dates, locations and times will be announced. To help balance teams, all players must attend at least one night of evaluations. Teams will be created to play against other schools in the York Adams Youth Basketball League (YAYBL) and York County Basketball Athletic Association (YCBAA) League.

PRACTICES: Teams practice twice a week beginning in early November. Days will be determined once coaches are secured, teams are formed, and locations are confirmed. Practices may be affected due to holidays, weather closures or school district activities.

GAMES: All games are scheduled by the YAYBL and YCBAA based on gym availability. Games begin first weekend in December. Home games will be held at the Lower Windsor Township gym on Saturdays and Sundays. When home games are scheduled, families will be encouraged to assist as needed. All teams will travel. Away games and make-up games may be held any day of the week due to gym availability. The leagues allow admission to be collected to help offset program expenses (up to $3/adults; $1/students).

LOCATIONS: Lower Windsor Twp Gym, Eastern York School District Gyms

UNIFORMS: Players receive a reversible jersey and shorts. Please indicate sizes needed in your registration. Samples will be available at evaluations to make adjustments. IMPORTANT! REFUND POLICY
Eastern York Recreation Authority (EYRA) operates as a 501c3 organization. We strive to keep registration costs feasible while still offering an excellent experience for our youth. Prior to the season, we use player registration fees to fund our operating budget, which includes uniforms, equipment, officials, facility maintenance, utilities, insurance requirements, and league fees, among other annual expenses. The EYRA Board has set the following guidelines on refunds with regards to youth sport registration fees.

To operate, our organization needs player fees prior to the season. Because of this, refunds will only be issued prior to team assignments. Refund requests must be emailed to eyrecauthority@gmail.com and include player name, sport, and detailed explanation for request.

Refunds are not issued if a player voluntarily decides not to participate. In the case of injury that prevents participation, refunds may require a doctor’s note to be considered and granted by members of the Board.

Refunds will be issued if we are not able to field a team for your player or proof that player has relocated outside of the school district.

If a refund is granted for any reason after uniforms have been ordered and/or the game schedule has started, the uniform cost and any related expenses will be deducted.

By registering and paying for the season, you agree to the Refund Policy.

VOLUNTEERS
To comply with Pennsylvania Law, all volunteers, coaches, assistant coaches, and parents who regularly help with Eastern York Recreation Authority (EYRA) youth programs must submit the required documents to EYRA prior to functioning in those positions.

In accordance with PA Act 153, also known as the PA Child Protective Services Law, all EYRA volunteers are required to submit background check clearances.
